MEPs and African, Caribbean and Pacific MPs agreed on the future of their partnership at the 35th Joint Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels. During the 35th session of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA) from 18 to 20 June in Brussels, Members of the European Parliament and their counterparts from 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries adopted several resolutions on Wednesday afternoon.

The Commission has announced today €68 million in humanitarian assistance for vulnerable communities in Sudan and South Sudan. The funding comes as millions of people across both countries are in need of assistance, with the conflict in South Sudan triggering an influx of refugees into neighbouring Sudan.

Weeks after French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled a $76 million African startup fund at VivaTech 2018, TechCrunch paid a visit to the French Development Agency (AFD) — who will administer the new fund — to get more details on how le nouveau fonds will work. The $76 million (or €65 million) will divvy up into three parts, according to AFD Digital Task Team Leader Christine Ha.

The Financing Agreement of the interim Economic Partnership Agreement Programme was signed today by the Secretary of State for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Executive Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs and National Authorising Officer and the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Seychelles, in the presence of the Vice President & Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs Mr. Vincent Meriton and the Minister for Finance, Trade Investment & Economic Planning.

MEPs and African, Caribbean and Pacific MPs are shaping their future their partnership at a three-day ACP-EU joint parliamentary assembly in Brussels. Members of the European Parliament and their counterparts from 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries are meeting in Brussels from 18-20 June for their last joint session before talks on renewing the ACP-EU partnership start in August 2018.
