The Ivoirian branches of Veolia and PFO Africa have just agreed on a strategic partnership. As a concrete sign of this alliance, the two partners have agreed to build a water treatment plant on the Mé River, which will provide water to the Abidjan urban area. Veolia and PFO Africa have recently signed this partnership in Côte d'Ivoire. This agreement is designed to “provide innovative, high-performing and sustainable solutions for water and waste management in order to support the continued growth of Côte d'Ivoire and enable a more sustainable development of the country,” states the press release. “Through this partnership with a significant local partner, we wish to build a long-term partnership to support the dynamic growth of Côte d'Ivoire and to propose high-profile environmental solutions,” said Patrice Fonlladosa, Veolia CEO for Africa and the Middle East. Clyde Fakhoury, the Deputy General Administrator for PFO Africa - Côte d'ivoire, also expressed his delight at the partnership, noting that his company would be more reliant on Veolia. “We will be able to benefit from the expertise of the world leader for environmental activities,” he said. Launching this partnership, both parties have started the construction of the River Mé water treatment plant, which will have a capacity of 240,000m3 per day. This plant will provide drinking water to the Abidjan conurbation.
