President of Togo visits British energy company headquarters

A delegation from the government of Togo, led by the President Faure Gnassingbé, has visited BBOXX’s London headquarters last week. BBOXX has been operating in Togo since December 2017, after it forged a partnership with the government to provide greater energy access. To date, BBOXX has installed its solar home systems in Togo, improving the lives of almost 20,000 people in the country. BBOXX aims to rollout 300,000 solar home systems across Togo by 2022. During the visit, the BBOXX team explained to the President how it will focus on delivering services to customers beyond solar home systems in Togo, such as internet and gas products. These services will help address the needs of rural communities who cannot access these utilities, thereby overcoming a significant barrier to economic development. The use of BBOXX products is set to also further the adoption of mobile payment solutions across the country, helping to improve the financial inclusion of rural communities.
