At the 7th European Union–South Africa Summit held in Brussels today Leaders agreed on a number of steps to reinforce bilateral and regional relations, focusing on the implementation of the EU-South Africa Strategic Partnership. This includes economic and trade cooperation and pursuing the improvement of business climate and opportunities for investment and job creation which are of mutual interest.

Today (12/11/2018), the European Union (EU) and Kenya held a dialogue session on the EU-Kenya partnership. This dialogue reviews all aspects of the EU-Kenya bilateral relations and reflects our long-standing relationship, which is based on a common set of values and principles. Today's meeting gives new impetus to and cements the unique relationship between the European Union, EU Member States and Kenya.

Amid recent alarming reports of the dramatic loss of wildlife and ecosystems worldwide, the European Union is calling for stronger global response to biodiversity concerns at the United Nations Biodiversity Conference 2018. At the 14th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention on Biodiversity in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt, the EU will be leading the international efforts for a post-2020 global biodiversity framework.

How the EIB supports conflict prevention and recovery in fragile regions in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific Region through investment. The EIB helps countries that need investment the most but have the hardest time finding it.

The African, Caribbean Pacific Secretariat, in collaboration with the European Commission, hosted the Fall Meeting of the Consultative Group (CG) of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), in Brussels during the 7th-9th November, 2018. The meetings, co-chaired by the ACP Secretariat, the European Commission and the World Bank, celebrated the ACP Group initiative in 2005, to create ACP-EU Natural Disaster Risk Management Programs under the intra-ACP framework.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) are hosting the Africa Day on 22 November in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Senior members of the Ethiopian government will join experts and policymakers from across Africa and Europe to lead discussions on opportunities for growth and diversification.

He reaffirmed the Royal Kingdom of The Netherlands’ commitment to supporting entrepreneurship as a key driver of growth and socioeconomic development in Ghana.

The ACP Secretariat and the Intra-ACP GCCA+ Programme organised an Info-point Lunch time conference at the External Cooperation Info point of DG DEVCO on the 17th October 2018. The event presented the Intra-ACP GCCA+ Programme and the Climate Support Facility (CSF) services set up to provide demand-driven, short-term technical assistance and training on climate change to ACP regional organisations and countries, as a complement to other components of the Programme.

A new high-level platform initiative brings together key players in the sustainable energy sector from the public and private sectors of both Europe and Africa. Today at the Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg organised by the African Development Bank, the European Union and the African Union have launched the EU-Africa high-level platform on sustainable energy investments in Africa.

The United Kingdom has pledged $920,000 million to support projects in Angola, a British official confirmed. The British Trade Envoy, Baroness Lindsay Northover, who arrived in Luanda Wednesday for a three-day visit, said her country would help in the construction and maintenance of electrical substations in Luanda and Cuanza Sul provinces.
