Deputy President William Ruto has been spotted in Rome, Italy, touring daily farms and speaking to Italians about their farming business days after he urged disgruntled Kenya farmers to learn how to diversify instead of lamenting.

The Federal Chancellor of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, arrives Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Thursday for offcial visit. He is received by Prime Minister at the PM Office. The visit by Sebastian Kurz follows the meeting between the two heads of state on the margins of the G20 Investment Summit held in Germany in October of this year.

On Tuesday 4 December, the European Parliament and the Council, with the support of the Commission, reached a provisional agreement on the 2019 EU budget during a decisive trilogue. This agreement is to be confirmed next week during the last plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

During the 36th session of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA), which took place from 3 to 5 December in Cotonou (Benin), Members of the European Parliament and their counterparts from 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries debated and adopted several resolutions. Parliamentarians debated the concrete involvement of the international community in the fight against terrorism in the Sahel, and the political situation in Cameroon.
