The 9th edition of European Development Days 2015 (EDD2015) will take place from 3-4th June at Tour & Taxi, Brussels. CTA, in partnership with GIZ, UNIDO, COLEACP and SNV shall host a lab session dedicated to Small Farmers Big Business (SFBB) on the theme of “value chains, value gains”. The SFBB Partnerships’ vision is that sustainable development must go hand in hand with the engagement of the private sector, with the aim to achieve food security in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. The ‘value chains for value gains’ session prioritises an inclusive open-minded debate on how to overcome the complex challenges of domestic, regional and international markets.
The 9th edition of European Development Days 2015 (EDD2015) will take place from 3-4th June at Tour & Taxi, Brussels. Revolutionising data use to feed the planet is the theme of CTA’s lab at the upcoming European EDD 2015. The Lab shall discuss the rapidly changing world within which African agriculture operates; the relevance and accuracy of our data and knowledge base; rising investments and policy interest in Africa’s agriculture demands and the necessity to have an up -to -date picture of the reality on the ground. The Lab will showcase the ‘The Agriculture in Africa – Telling Facts from Myths’ project, which contributes to this by analysing national household surveys from 6 African countries conducted under the Living Standards Measurement Study – as part of the Integrated Surveys on Agriculture Initiative, launched in 2009.
