On Thursday, the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM) took delivery of 4,500 copies of the Guide to Citizens’ Rights and Obligations, as well as 500 copies of the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Judges, from the European Union (EU). Both documents, drafted by the CSM, have been produced to give citizens guidance about their rights and obligations and the services available to them. ‘Countries with a reliable justice system are more likely to attract investment,’ said Cristina Martins Barreira, Head of the EU Delegation to Togo. ‘That, in turn, drives economic growth. It is part of our efforts to support Togo’s development.’ ‘These documents will help citizens play their full part in building peace and social cohesion in Togo,’ added Akakpovi Gamatho, President of the CSM.
