In this week's CTA Brussels video interview, Chef Stephane Durand, Executive Chef at Culinary by Design, Haiti, explains the challenges that he is facing in Haiti to find the right products and quality, and the support needed to help redevelop the farming infrastructure. Promoting local cuisine and healthy eating is one of the ways to tackle some of the challenges.
CTA is recruiting a trainee for its Brussels Office. The position is open to ACP and EU nationals. A six months contract will be offered from October 2016. This contract can be renewed once for a maximum of 6 months. Further details on requirements and how to apply can be found in the note attached.
The CTA Brussels News Service is providing EU-ACP policy news since 2004, on various key thematic areas. In addition to this news service, we also provide news on ACP intra-regional trade, and south-south cooperation (investments of emerging countries' in agriculture in the ACP regions). The main stories for the week are featured in our newsletter and all stories can be found in our Regional Trade and the South-South cooperation sections.
The Italian Cabinet has approved the proposal put forward by Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni to open three new Embassies: in Niger (Niamey), in Guinea (Conakry) and in the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo). The reopening of the Embassy in Conakry (closed in 1998) follows Guinea’s revived dynamism within the region and the enormous potential of furthering bilateral cooperation. More specifically, the opening of an Embassy in Niamey gives Italy an important operating advantage in the light of the current dynamics in the Sahel region, which could have repercussions on the security of Italy and Europe, and of Niger’s role in stabilising the region.
