The CTA Brussels News Service is providing EU-ACP policy news since 2004, on various key thematic areas. In addition to this news service, we also provide news on ACP intra-regional trade, and south-south cooperation (investments of emerging countries' in agriculture in the ACP regions). The European Commission has pledged to provide 78 million Euro in emergency aid to help those affected by the ongoing conflict in South Sudan. Over a million refugees from South Sudan, aid agencies say, have fled the country to neighbouring countries, with the number expected to grow. EU Commissioner Christos Stylianides announced the funding during a visit to Uganda. "The EU stands by the people of South Sudan who had to escape conflict and violence.
