William Ruto, Kenya's Deputy President, said the east Africa nation will soon conclude negotiations on Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) with the European Union. This agreement will focus on trade rather than aid.

After several years of deadlock, negotiations between the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the European Union (EU) on Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) recently reported some progress in terms of considering the requirements of ECCAS to compensate for the impacts of this agreement on its economies.  


In 2013, the exports of Mauritius Island amounted to US$2.938 billion American dollars and imports to 5.522 billion dollars, i.e. a trade deficit of 2.583 billion dollars, which means 4.7% less than that registered in 2012 which was 2.711 billion, according to the National Statistical Service. European countries are the biggest buyers for Mauritius Island with 56.1% of the country’s exports, i.e. US$1.345 billion dollars.

Stakeholders of the agricultural sector in Africa invited to promote agricultural practices that respect the social environment by signing the PPP4PPP declaration implemented by Coleacp. Which will allow them to receive training in order to better meet the market requirements. The Fruit Logistica fair which united tens of thousands of exporting producers of fruits and vegetables in the world on the 5th, 6th and 7th February in Berlin, Germany helped to launch the support program established by Coleacp international association (African, Caribbean and Pacific Liaison Committee).

The Public Affairs Officer of the Delegation of the EU in Haiti spoke in the 5th Briefing organised by Promodev and CTA on the important topic of “financing of the value chain”.
