Haiti - Agriculture : €218,000 for agribusiness

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) in the presence of Ambassador Javier Nino Perez, Jean-Jacques Charles, National Authorising Officer of the European Development Fund (BONFED) and Jean Claude Mérine Deputy Director of the Binational Program of Caribbean Export, delivered 10 subsidies - €6,000 and €30,000 each - totalling €218,000 to Haitian companies in the agro-industrial sector. These subsidies were allocated as part of the binational cooperation program between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, funded by the European Union. It aims to enhance the competitiveness of products with export potential and supporting organizations and private businesses. Specifically, these subsidies will allow the beneficiaries among others: to acquire inputs to increase their production capacity, develop marketing and export strategies, participate in international trade fairs, obtain certificates of quality and support the economic integration between the two nations on the island.
