Good market in UK for Kenyan sweet potatoes

Sahara Communities Abroad (Sacoma) hosted a culinaryevent in London to valorise the trade and marketing of Kenyan sweet potatoes.Perez Ochieng’, CEO of Sacoma, said the event was part of her organisation’sinitiative to effectively promote the access of Kenyan sweet potatoes andcoffee to the UK and European Union markets and at the same time improve thelives of rural farmers. “This trade event was a catalyst to influence industry,consumers and policy makers and open up new business opportunities and promoteinvestment in Kenyan agriculture,” she said. “We believe that existing businessinvestment and market development opportunities are not yet fully exploited andare untapped”.
