Latvia : Edgars Rinkevics discusses development of cooperation with Togo

On January 7, the Togolese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Robert Dussey, met with the Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkēvičs to discuss bilateral cooperation, EU cooperation and regional issues of high importance. Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs emphasised that Latvia was very interested in developing their economic and business contacts with Togo, and welcomed the prospect of signing an intergovernmental agreement to promote bilateral relations. Latvia, the country currently presiding over the Council of the EU, reiterated their support for EU-Togo development cooperation and to further diplomatic relations, which were established in the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York on 23 September 2014. Edgars Rinkēvičs noted that transportation and logistics could be an area of future cooperation, as well as business cooperation in pharmaceuticals and fertilizers as well as IT and telecommunications.
