ACP Countries to Meet in Nairobi

Members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) are expected to conclude a major joint declaration on the Post-2015 Development Agenda at the upcoming Summit in Nairobi. The chairman of the ACP Committee of Ambassadors, Dr Diodorus Kamala, added that they would also possibly take a joint position on private sector development in ACP countries.
The ACP Chair, who is also the Tanzanian Ambassador in Belgium and the EU, said "In less than two weeks from now, representatives from the 79 ACP member countries and counterparts from 28 EU countries will convene in Nairobi, Kenya, for the annual ACP-EU Joint Council of Ministers on June 19 and 20".
According to him, key areas such as trade cooperation and development finance would also be discussed. About 29 national indicative and regional programmes under the 11th EDF are also supposed to be signed during the Summit.
