The 'EPA issue' prompts discussion in Uganda

During the course of a two-day symposium on trade liberalisation, the EPAs and the impact on sustainable development in Uganda,  legislators, trade experts and analysts pointed out that the delayed signing of the Economic Partnerships Agreement (EPAs) is an obstacle to the development of trade among developing nations.
According to an article by All Africa, senior Ministry of Trade officials had a tough time convincing MPs, Civil Society, and trade experts about EPA benefits , as experts were keen to say that Uganda would best benefit if it didn’t sign the agreement.
