The EC claws back €215 million in EU agricultural policy funds

According to recent updates, the European Commission is claiming back around €215 million of EU agricultural policy funds which have been unduly spent by EU member states under the clearance of accounts procedure.
As some of these amounts have already been recovered, and the Commission is reimbursing Spain following a Court ruling on a previous disallowance decision, the net financial impact of will be some €94 million.
This money returns to the EU budget because of non-compliance with EU rules or inadequate control procedures on agricultural expenditure.
