Brussels sees plans to meet climate change targets

Brussels recently hosted “Energy futures and civil society in the EU – building a low carbon alliance”, a conference which addressed the large number of current initiatives across the EU to meet the climate change targets. These plans, which range from local grassroots energy generation and efficiency programmes to major national programmes, were presented as part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week.
One of the key messages raised during the event stressed a hope for a sustainable energy future as essential. Additionally,  it was also said that ownership of programmes by participants was vital and that businesses might need to study thoroughly their business models.
