Angola-Portugal Environmental Cooperation: “Positive and healthy”

Following a meeting of  the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) , which was held in Luanda last week, Alexandra Carvalho, the director of International Relations Office of the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, assessed as ‘positive’ and ‘healthy’ the level of bilateral cooperation between Angola and Portugal concerning the environment sector.
She explained that Angola and Portugal cooperate in the sectors of biodiversity, climate change and institutional technical capacity, among others. Despite favorable critiques, she noted that “there is always space to reinforce this sharing and intensify the programmes of sharing knowledge and experiences exchange, since this is a continuous process.”
Moreover, she said that the meeting has served to prepare the CPLP Environment ministers, who will be meeting this coming week.
