Launch of Migration Policy Institute Europe

The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) Europe, which is a non-profit, independent research institute that aims to provide a better understanding of migration in Europe, will be launched next week. MPI Europe will host a panel discussion in Brussels, entitled “Rethinking European Identity in the Age of Immigration”.  EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmström and former UK Home Secretary Charles Clarke will attend the event.
The launch of MPI Europe, which provides authoritative research and practical policy design to governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, is greatly supported by European policy-makers. Particularly, former European Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs Antonio Vitorino, who served as Deputy Prime Minister of Portugal and Member of the European Parliament, has stated " [all] will benefit from the creation of MIP Europe. Equally, Giuliano Amato, a former Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Italy ,said “[the]Institute, having advised numerous EU presidencies and European governments on immigration and immigrant integration policy, has had a longstanding presence and impact in Europe”.
