Despite the crisis, the EU will be there

According to VibeGhana, the EU Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Claude Maerten, recently assured that despite the current economic crisis in Europe,  the EU would always stand by Ghana in its development endeavour.
Notably, Ambassador Maerten stressed the country is recognised worldwide as the beacon of democracy in Africa. Furthermore, he encouraged Ghanaians to use their votes in the December elections to express their goodwill and elect a president to show to the world that Ghana is, indeed, a champion in democracy in Africa.
The Ambassador, who was honoured at a durbar on the importance of the Biometric Voters Register to the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections at a forum on Tuesday, was accompanied by some other EU officials.
