ICTs role in African development to increase

As we have recently reported, Information, Communication Technologies (ICTs) have showed to play a key role on development. According to most recent updates on Allafrica, the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD) has recently signed a Grant Facility Agreement (GFA) with the French Development Agency (AFD) aiming at investing in the development of ICTs.
The grant of Euros 1,350,000 is made available to NEPAD by the European Union Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-ITF), a European donor coordinated fund, through the AFD. It will finance the NEPAD ICT broadband infrastructure network for West, Central and North Africa projects.
