Prices of agricultural commodities

According to the EC International Price Monitoring, in November 2011 prices of agricultural commodities mostly followed prior trends. While increases were recorded for products such as beef and rice, prices of sugar and butter decreased over 6 %.
The largest increases were recorded for whole milk powder (4%), rice (5%), soybean meal (5.3%), and beef (8%). Notable decreases were recorded for butter and sugar (both 6%). Nominal food price indices declined (this latter not relying on prices described in the last EC International Price Monitoring).  Market fundamentals continue to support price easing despite global macroeconomic uncertainty.
