Antigua & Barbuda: Non-state actors committee formed to work with EDF

Nine non-governmental groups in Antigua & Barbuda have united to form a Non-State Actors Advisory Committee to work with the European Development Fund (EDF) and the government in formulating developmental objectives and paths, particularly as they relate to EU-funded programmes and projects.

According to the original Cotonou Agreement, which is the framework for the EU’s relations with 79 countries from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP), Non-State Actors (NSAs) are to be included in the implementation of development policies and programmes related to the European Development Fund. These NSAs are recognised as essential in ensuring the relevance and impact of co-operation policies and programmes developed between the EU and the signatory countries.
