Urbanisation at the heart of world water week

The problems arising from increasing urbanisation are at the heart of this year’s world water week taking placei n Stockholm from 21 to 27 August. Many presentations and discussions therefore focus on urban water management. Around 2,500 experts are expected to attend the conference.

The comprehensive world water week programme includes more than 100 events, each of them looking upon the global challenge of water provision and waste water management from a different perspective. Most participants are scientists, public and private sector decision-makers or experts active in development policy. Town mayors of bigger cities who are confronted with water issues will have their own platform for discussions.

World water week is organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
