EU and Guinea: two financing agreements signed

Represented by its Minister of Economy and Finance, the Guinean government on Friday 29 September signed two agreements with the European Union (EU) represented by its Head of Delegation in Conakry, Gerardus Giélen. The signing, which took place in the conference room of the Ministry of Economy, was also attended by the Minister of State responsible for Security and Civil Protection, his counterpart for the Environment and Water and Forests, as well as numerous guests and development partners. The agreements concerned two projects that will lead to very concrete results in terms of training, equipment, improvement of services, improvement of relations between the security forces and the civilian population, protection of the environment and combating human trafficking. This is the third Security Sector Reform Support Programme (Parss 3), which builds on the results of the previous programme funded by the European Union from the resources of the 10th European Development Fund (EDF) and the general budget of the European Union, to help the restructuring of the security sector, and to build a better partnership between the security forces and civilians in the Republic of Guinea.
