UK Supports Angola’s Economic Diversification

The UK government shall support Angola in its economic diversification, with a strong emphasis on agriculture. The British Trade Minister in Luanda, David Heath met with the Director General of Angolan Grains Institute, Benjamin Castelo to discuss the practical modalities to set up partnerships with the Angolan institutions related to agriculture, energy and mining industry. The UK  Government is studying ways to make potentials a reality and to strengthen the levels of commercial engagement. According to the UK trade Minsiter, the recent macroeconomic progress, achieved by Angola, demands an increase in diversification of its economy. The Angolan Grain Institute will submit a memorandum outlining guidelines and the timetable for implementation. UK and Angola’s relations are enshrined in the General Agreement of Cooperation, signed in 1986.
