Congo-Brazzaville: the EU is contributing to agricultural development

The European Union is contributing FCFA 474,500,000 to agricultural development projects in order to tackle poverty. In the field, the aim is to improve and facilitate the agricultural development of rural and urban areas in four departments in the Congo. The departments targeted by this project intended to support and structure the “Dynamique Intégrative des Corridors Agricoles (Dica)” initiative are Plateaux, Lékoumou, Cuvette and Cuvette-Ouest.

“The amended project is becoming our working tool thanks to the linking of the department by asphalt roads as a result of accelerated municipal development. Thanks to these roads, the economic trends of development projects will not necessarily go through Brazzaville. The partners are helping us to remedy deficiencies and guiding us in the choices to be made. The aim of our action is to help drive our country’s economic development and the other partners will follow,” explains Paul Kampakol, Secretary General of the “Forum des Jeunes Entreprises du Congo” (“Congo Young Companies Forum”).
