Agribusiness: The success story of African coffee in Paris

On 23rd October, 200 exceptional coffees, originating from 25 countries, competed in the 4th edition of the ‘International Competition for Locally Roasted Coffees’ run by the Agency for the Valorisation of Agricultural Products (AVPA). The Gabonese coffee Alanga was the overall winner, having faced stiff competition from the “Silver Gourmet” winners; the Congolese “Lacus Café”, the Colombian “Café Ginebras Gourmet” and the Brazilian coffee “Santa Fé”. AVPA’s 4th edition of the International Competition for Locally Roasted Coffees was notable for the significant impact made by exceptional African coffees. In terms of the competition, Philipe Juglar, the President of AVPA, noted the high quality of the competing products.
